Jack Russell Park
Playground Update
From February 5-20, the playground at Jack Russell Park will be undergoing construction as part of a playground replacement project. At times during construction, playground equipment may be limited or unavailable.
Visitors planning events or activities that rely on playground access should be aware of this potential impact. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to improve the park.
Tennis Court Update
We are currently working to approve a project to resurface the tennis courts at Jack Russell Park. This project will require the closure of all courts for approximately one to two weeks within the next few months. Once construction dates are confirmed, an update will be provided.

Jack Russell Park, one of Atlantic Beach’s most frequently used parks, rests on 12 acres of park land and consists of a large picnic pavilion (reserve HERE), 6 tennis courts, 2 racquetball courts, 2 playground areas, 2 ballfields and soccer fields. A concession stand is open on weekends.
Jack Russell Park is home to the Atlantic Beach Athletic Association, Oceanside Rotary Skate Park, and hosts Family Fun Day and Camp Out Under the Stars (an annual event for families).
The Atlantic Beach Athletic Association is home to youth baseball and T-Ball leagues for boys and girls 3 to 12 years old. For more information on spring or fall sign-ups, call (904) 434-8283, email president@abbaseball.com, or visit the Atlantic Beach Baseball website.

The Atlantic Beach Tennis Courts have 6 tennis courts for public use on a first-come first-served basis.
Professionals who charge for instruction may use the courts for that purpose under our Professional Tennis Instructor Guidelines:
- An active City registration is required. The registration must be posted for public display on the tennis court bulletin board, and the instructor must post a City-issued snipe/yard sign outside of the court being utilized.
- The registration fee is $225 + tax quarterly. Proof of active membership in an association of tennis-teaching professionals is required, as is proof of liability insurance satisfactory to the City’s risk management guidelines.
- Professionals who charge for instructions must sign a hold-harmless agreement and must have their students sign hold-harmless agreements releasing the City from liability.
- At Russell Park, when the courts are full, instructors may use a court no longer than 90 minutes per session if players or other instructors are waiting.
- Instructors may use the Bull Park court no longer than two hours per day if players or other instructors are waiting.
- Registration does not guarantee court availability; the public courts are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Lessons/clinics must be provided on Russell Park Court Nos. 4, 5 and 6, or at Bull Park.
- These regulations are subject to update.
